Description

I hiked up the hillside to get a spectacular view of the milky way in the Scottish Highlands. It was beyond freezing and some clouds rolled in but I am happy with this.

Tech - I shot this as a single row pano with a 24mm lens, 10 shots across the sky in a vertical orentation with a large overlap.

24mm f/1.4 shot at f/2, ISO 1600 for 30 seconds (I would have done longer but had remote issues)

I then took a long exposure pano of the foreground at ISO 1000. I shot the brighter left side of the foreground twice, masking in the bright lights on an ISO 400 exposure for a much shorter time to prevent them blowing out as they are extremely bright to the eye. I used a Sky Watcher Star Adventurer mount to track, and I shot this with a Nikon D810.
